"Mommy, you forgot to pray for the most important part."

When we sat down for dinner tonight, I prayed for our food, "God, thank you so much this good food you gave us and for helping Mommy know how to cook it for us, in Jesus name, Amen." Then Isaac said, "Mommy you forgot the pray the most important part." I asked him what did I forget? And he said, "You forgot to ask God to bless the most important woman in the world." Then he said, "You are the best Mommy in the world, you do everything for us." "You cook our food, you clean the house, you get our clothes ready, you put us to bed for naps, you drive us everywhere, you play with us." I was FLOORED to say the least!! I told him thank you and that was the sweetest thing he ever said to me and that made me feel so special. He kept going on about all the things I do for them. Then he said, "Mommy, is God happy when I say things like that?" And I told him "Yes, He is!" A few seconds later he said, "Mommy, last night when Daddy was putting me and Eric to bed, he told us those things and we prayed all those things to God." "Daddy said all those things about you too." I told him again thank you and how sweet it was for him to tell me that. I could not believe it. The fruit you see in your child is just amazing. What a blessing he is. He really made up for the old woman comment.

"That's an old woman song!"

Today Isaac and Eric were running around the house with cape clipped to the back of their shirts pretending to be super hero's. Isaac came into the kitchen to ask me if I had any super hero music. He said he wanted to run around with super hero music on. I told him I didn't think I had any super hero music. So, he said, "I guess you could turn on Our God Is An Awesome God." Then he said, "No, not that one, that is and old woman song." I said, "WHAT??!!" "An old woman song?" "What is that!?" And he said, "It's an old woman song, because that is a song you play all the time." I thought I was going to die!!! So, I said, "How about I Am Saved By Grace?" And he said, "No you play that all the time too, so that is an old woman song too!" Oh my gosh......I'm an old woman.

"Mommy, I want to be a super hero when I grow up."

Isaac and Eric were watching a show this evening (The Incredibles) while I was cleaning up from dinner, and Isaac came in the kitchen and said, "Mommy, I want to be a super hero when I grow up." I said, "Oh, ok."
This is one I have not heard before, but I have heard:
1. Doctor
2. Chef (many times)
3. Fire fighter (many times)
4. Garbage truck driver
5. Runner
and now...
6. Super hero

I am sure we will continue to add to the list as the years go by :)

Dancing at the After Party

Happy 1st Birthday Lauren (videos)

Happy 1st Birthday Lauren Jolie!!

Enjoying her "icing" cone (the icing is the yummy Rice Mellow Creme that I love).

Can't believe our Baby Girl is 1 today!! Wow, this year has gone by faster than any! It was a snowy Birthday....the Blizzard round 2 started yesterday evening. Not really sure how much more snow, but I think it is more than a foot. This time, it is not just snow, but crazy winds too. We have not even opened the door today, so we will get some pictures of the new damage tomorrow when we (well Scott) digs out :)

Since there was so much snow, Scott got to stay home today. So it was nice to have the entire family here all day to celebrate our Princess.

Happy Birthday Lauren! We Love you!!

Blizzard February 2010 - Round 1

Eric doesn't really like the snow :)

Happy to be playing in the snow inside.
Great idea Daddy!
Lauren loved it too!
On the deck past his waist!
28 " of snow!!! And this was only round 1

Isaac - Starfish of the week

Here are a couple of pictures of Isaac when he was the Starfish of the week at school. Since he attends school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, he was the special "fish" (his class is called the Faithful Fish), for those two days. He got to bring something special from home, be the leader in all the activities, hold the flag for the pledge, and talk about some of his favorite things. He took a remote control train. He was so proud and excited!! Here he is holding the special bag to put his from home item in....it had to fit in the bag in order to bring it...great idea huh?

M.I.A.

So I have been Missing In Action for a while. Life has gotten even busier and fuller than before. I started working on my master's degree in January, so my "free" time (what little I had) has been very limited. And most of the free time I do have, I am studying.

It's a good thing though, and something I have been "looking" too for a while now. I feel as though I have started on a new journey....a new calling....that has been in my heart for over 7 years. And this is just the beginning, but it has started!!

I am in a Seminary program at Liberty University Online, studying for a Master's in Religion in Pastoral Counseling. Not sure if I will stop with that, or continue on for a Master's in Divinity as well. Going to finish the first one, and see what God has in store for me then.

Liberty's online program is set up in 8 week quarters, so the classes are accelerated; therefore, I'm only taking 1 class per quarter. So far, my class is going great! I am really enjoying the time I am spending studying and the material. I am taking New Testament Orientation. God has really given me desire to study and a grace with the reading, being that I have never enjoyed or been good at reading.

As I mentioned before, I'm not sure what God has in store for my future, but I do know something with Women's Ministry of some sort. It just feels good to have taken the first step of many towards this passion and calling He has placed in my heart.

Please pray for me to continue to have the desire to study, extra brain power to understand what I'm studying, and that I would remain in the Lord's presence at all times so that I will always remember I am right where He wants me to be. Thanks!
